Juab County commissioners have agreed to a steering committee that would determine ways to utilize and improve the county fairgrounds during the off-season months.

Jeff Banks, county extension agent, said he and several other county promoters had discussed the advantages of such a committee at an "unofficial" meeting recently."We decided we could utilize the grounds better than we do now," said Banks. The committee, he said, would like the approval of the commission to develop immediate and long-range goals and then present the plans to the commission for approval.

Commissioners approved the plan. Commissioner Ike Lunt said that rather than let the fairgrounds sit idle for five or six months of the year, the committee might find a way to promote activities there. In addition, the committee might be able to come up with a plan for replacing the older buildings at the fairgrounds.
