Freed hostage Jesse Turner, his wife, Badr, and daughter Joanne bow their heads in prayer for the hostages still being held during a welcome-home ceremony in Boise for which several thousand people turned out Friday night. The front steps and portico of the Statehouse were wrapped with yellow ribbons and American flags. A freedom torch was carried to the Capitol by a runner, fireworks were ignited and churches rang bells. Turner was slightly embarrassed and overwhelmed by the celebration, his wife said. He spent 41/2 years as a captive of Shiite Muslims in Lebanon.
