Responding to the need to augment emergency food supplies around the state, the Weber Chapter of American Bikers Aiming Toward Education (ABATE) is sponsoring a toy and canned food run Sunday, Oct. 6.
A hundred motorcyclists, laden with food and toys, will make the run from Lion's Park in Ogden Canyon to the Ogden City/County Building where the donated food will be presented. Utahns Against Hunger will accept the canned good on behalf of the Ogden Community Action Center, a local emergency food-assistance provider. The toys will be presented to Ogden Mayor Scott Sneddon for appropriate distribution.
Food and toy donors should call 731-6361 in Ogden to arrange for pickups. All collections will be concluded by Oct. 4. For more information, call Ken or Pam at 736-6361 or call Martha at 399-9281. The toll free number for Utahns Against Hunger is 1-800-453-3663.
