Weber State University quarterback, Jamie Martin has been named the Sports Illustrated Offensive Player of the Week. It marks the second time in three seasons a Weber State player has been honored by the magazine.
In November of 1989, WSU defensive back, Mike Babb, earned the honor after intercepting four passes, returning one of a TD vs. Idaho State.Martin completed 33-51 passes for 440 yards and seven touchdowns, in Weber State's wild 63-59 victory over conference rival, Eastern Washington. The seven touchdown passes set a WSU and Big Sky Conference record for Most TD Passes Thrown in a Single Game.
Martin threw two of those seven passes in the final 1:21 of the game, rallying the Wildcats from a 59-50 deficit. In the process, Martin also established himself as Weber State's career Total Offense and Passing leader as well.
