After a month of turbulent negotiating, Charlotte officials say No. 1 draft pick Larry Johnson could sign with the Hornets today as soon as final details are worked out.
Team president Spencer Stolpen and Johnson's agent were to talk by telephone this morning, hoping to finalize some "window dressing" final details, Stolpen told The Charlotte Observer. WSOC-TV reported that some details had to be ironed out with the NBA.
Both Johnson and the Hornets have incentive to get the matter resolved before Thursday at 6 p.m., when the Hornets must turn in 12-man roster to the NBA.
