The body of a woman was discovered near a busy freeway, and authorities said it appears she is the 18th victim of a serial killer preying on prostitutes and drug users.

A resident on his way to work found the body Wednesday morning in Mira Loma on a well-traveled frontage road adjacent to the Pomona Freeway, sheriff's detective Henry Sawicki said."At this time she is being considered to be the 18th victim of the Riverside County serial killer," he said. "Preliminary findings indicate that the victim had a past history of prostitution and/or drug usage."

Ken Nugent of the Riverside County Coroner's Office said the name of victim, a 35-year-old woman believed to be from Riverside, was being withheld.
