The first Olympic medals ever awarded to an Idahoan are gone.

Someone has stolen the pride of Gretchen Fraser's life from a display case in the Sun Valley Lodge. She won them for her victory in the slalom and her second-place finish in the combined downhill and slalom at the 1948 Winter Games in St. Moritz, Switzerland."I'm shocked that people would be that low when the medals can't mean much to them," said Fraser, 72. "To me, there's isn't any monetary value, but a certain amount of pride that I was able to win for the U.S."
