Voters from South Salt Lake elected four City Council members Tuesday, including two incumbents.

Wes C. Losser captured 34 percent of the vote to retain his seat in the at-large race. Also in the at-large race, Douglas J. Moffat won 27 percent of the vote to win the seat held by Mel Olsen, who held onto 18 percent of the tally. Harold W. Schreiber garnered 22 percent of the votes, and write-in candidate Brenda Atkinson took 6 percent.Losser, 38, is a tile setter.

Both Losser and Moffat oppose a county-wide fire department and animal control system. Moffat, 39, owns the Highlander Bike Shops.

In the District 1 race, Don Loock defeated Steven R. Fitt, 52 to 48 percent.

In District 4, Judy Siebach won re-election with 54 percent of the vote, beating David W. Brusch, 46 percent. Siebach, 48, says preserving and upgrading available housing is one of the major issues facing the city.
