To the editor:

I would like to know why it is that even in Veteran's Day celebrations, such as the Nov. 8 concert, that the veterans from the Korean conflict and the Vietnam war were not mentioned. The veterans who served in the Vietnam war spent more time and more personal sacrifice than 95 percent of the soldiers and their families of Desert Shield. There were more soldiers killed, MIAs, POWs and families affected by the Vietnam war.

When they had the veterans from World War I and II stand up, it sent a tingle of pride down my spine, knowing they would ask all the veterans from each conflict and war to stand. But I was wrong. The veterans from the Korean conflict and Vietnam war were spit on again, not even mentioned.

But they sure had the servicemen and women of Desert Shield stand up and then their families. Why? Where is the justice and fairness of it all?

I served my country well with only a kick in the face for thanks.
