In a continuance of a tradition begun nearly 50 years ago, the Ephraim Middle School will present yule candles symbolic of human service to a Manti-Sterling resident and an Ephraim resident at its annual Candlelight Service on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.

The beautifully decorated candles will be presented by the two students with the highest grade-point averages in the graduating class. The recipients, who will not be identified until they are called from the audience for the presentations, have been selected by a faculty committee from a list of candidates nominated by the public.

The Candlelight Service will also include performances of both popular and traditional Christmas music by the school's band, orchestra and choruses.
