At least 32 Albanians died Tuesday evening when a fire broke out in a warehouse they were raiding for food in a village northeast of the capital of Tirana.

"Just 32 people have been identified so far but there are many more dead," said a police communique published Wednesday.The fire broke out when about 4,000 people, almost the entire population of the remote mountain town of Fushe-Arrez, 130 miles northeast of Tirana, stormed a warehouse to try to obtain food.
