Getting a special holiday package or greeting card delivered on time can be greatly enhanced if the person sending the mail takes time to make sure packages are properly wrapped and each item has a complete name, an exact address (including apartment numbers, rural route numbers) and the proper ZIP code printed on the same line as the city and two digit state abbreviation.

Salt Lake Postmaster Kenneth R. Prentiss said the Postal Service prefers that addresses be in all capital letters with no punctuation. If envelopes are addressed by hand, it is best to print them in all capitals.For more information, call Postal Information at 974-2200.
