Edward Albert Richardson, age 64, died December 10, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was born March 28, 1927 in Long Beach, California to Wyatt Rawlston and Norma Mary Saxton Richardson. He married Ruth Marie Duffin in Orange, Texas; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He graduated from the University of New Mexico in civil engineering. A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, Bert served three combat tours in Vietnam as a pilot with the U.S.A.F. He went on to work as an engineer with the Army Corp of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation. He retired from Civil Service in May, 1991 as facility engineer for Fort Douglas, Salt Lake City, Utah. An active member of the LDS Church, he enjoyed his family, outdoor activity, hiking and "The Big Band Era".He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two daughters, Karen Zamudio and her husband, Aristeo and Rhonda Reed and her husband, Harry; 11 grandchildren, Lisa, Mark, Natalie, Eric, Stephanie, Jonathan, Andrew, Jacob, Nathan, Carrie and Spencer; and two brothers, Wilber R. and James W. Richardson. He was much loved by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 13, 12 noon at the Eagle Gate Stake House, 135 No. A Street (corner of 2nd Avenue and A Street), Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may call at the church from 10:45 to 11:45. Interment: Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Department of Neurology, University of Utah Medical Center, for use in research and treatment of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (A.L.S.).
