Investigators found a car registration at the scene and sent dental records of the registered owner to the state medical examiner's office. Using those records, the victim was identified as a 38-year-old Salt Lake County resident. The medical examiner's office said the man died from carbon monoxide asphyxiation. The exact cause of the fire is unknown, but investigators believe the car either overheated, or a cigarette ignited the interior.
