Invalids and shut-ins who would otherwise spend Christmas in a hospital bed or nursing home will again be able to enjoy "Christmas at Home" through free ambulance service offered by Valley Ambulance on Christmas Day.

Ambulance transportation within Utah County will be provided to those whose families would otherwise be unable to provide transportation to bring them home. Valley Ambulance has offered this service for several years, and this year the Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce is co-sponsoring the event. Those who are interested in the free service should call 377-7033 during business hours to arrange a time to schedule a pickup time. Appointments will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

"We feel that there is a distinct need for this service," said Kent Gren, owner of Valley Ambulance. "Many people are forced to spend this special time of year away from their family and loved ones because there is no way to safely transport them to their homes. We feel the families should be given a chance to be together on this very special day. We hope that the truly needy individuals who can benefit from this service will call us and allow us to assist in bringing families together for the holidays."
