The American Lung Association of Utah has named Eric Stilson the 1991 Christmas Seal chairman.
Stilson will assist the American Lung Association of Utah throughout the campaign in its fight against lung disease. Lung disease, including lung cancer, is the third leading cause of death in the United States."Nearly one out of every 10 American suffers from chronic lung disease. I felt it was important to join the fight against lung disease," said Stilson.
Stilson is president of Stilson & Stilson Advertising Inc. as well as owner of several other Utah businesses.
After serving four years in Europe and the Far East in the U.S. Air Force, Stilson graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in advertising and marketing. He has done graduate work in marketing at UCLA.
He has also been an active member of many community groups, including Salt Lake Rotary Club and Utah Advertising Federation.
Ninety percent of funds raised by the Christmas Seal Campaign remain in Utah and are spent on health education and research programs to fight lung diseases, Camp Wyatt, childhood Asthma Camp, the Better Breather's Club, smoking cessation programs and its respiratory self-care classes as well as environmental health and tuberculosis awareness programs.
