Five Sevier School District employees or programs have won state and national recognitions for outstanding work.
Patrick D. Wilson, district accountant, was honored by the Association of School Business Officials with a certificate of excellence. The association is an arm of the U.S. Department of Education.In addition, the district received a certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting "in the spirit of full disclosure" from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The certificate is widely regarded as the highest form of recognition in government accounting and financial reporting.
Duane Bresee, special services director, was named Administrator of the Year by the Association for Direct Instruction.
Jerold Johnson, Sevier School Board member, was honored by the Utah Rural Schools Association as Board Member of the Year.
Randy Johnson was also cited by the rural schools association as Middle School Principal of the Year.
