Mary N. Monroe, state supervisor for home economics in Utah, has been named vice chairwoman for the Future Homemakers of America national board of directors.

Monore was involved in FHA activities in high school and later became a local and district adviser. She won the 1983 Adviser of the Year recognition in Idaho. She also has been government relations coordinator for the American Home Economics Association.The 17-member national board makes policy and management decisions for the FHA program. More than 8 million students have been involved in since the organization's founding in 1945.
