Taking advantage of the publicity her election generated, Salt Lake Mayor-elect Deedee Corradini will travel to New York City next week to trumpet business opportunities along the Wasatch Front.

A spokesman said Corradini wants to correct misperceptions and help Salt Lake City's image. The two-day trip was organized and paid for by the Economic Development Corporation of Utah. Corradini will meet with the New York Times, Time Magazine and Working Woman magazine.

Corradini, a non-Mormon businesswoman, captured national attention by being elected mayor in a city perceived as dominated by the LDS Church and by men.
