- WORLD WAR II: With the spate of new books dealing with the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor comes the reprinting of two "classics" on the subject.

Penguin has released new large-format paperback editions of Gordon Prange's "At Dawn We Slept: The Untold Story of Pearl Harbor" and "Pearl Harbor: The Verdict of History" ($16.95 each). The books were originally published in hardcover in 1981 and 1986, respectively.

"At Dawn We Slept" deals with the attack from its inception to its execution. Its sequel, "Pearl Harbor," looks at the event through American eyes, focusing on the causes, attitudes, responsibilities and aftermath. - Associated Press
