Emma Jeanne Williams Birkinshaw, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, died Saturday, December 7, 1991 at the home of her beloved granddaughter, Annette Birkinshaw-Clinard.
Born January 11, 1899 in Provo, Utah to David Joseph and Martha Ann Williams. She moved to Salt Lake City at the age of five and attended Longfellow and Wasatch elementary schools, LDS High School, and LDS Business College, working as a stenographer and secretary for many years. She married Charles William Birkinshaw June 4, 1924 in the salt Lake LDS Temple. As an active member of the LDS Church, she enjoyed teaching, Primary and Relief Society, singing in the ward choir, serving as stake missionary, and doing genealogy work. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook, devoting her life to her husband and family. She was also active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.Preceded in death by her husband, November 28, 1987; her daugther, Carol Jeanne, December 16, 1942; and a son, William E. Birkinshaw, January 27, 1984.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marion and Dean Clark; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Janet Birkinshaw; and Lynn and Connie Birkinshaw; and Dorothy Birkinshaw; her sister, Marjorie Morriss of Salt Lake City; and a brother, Melvin Williams, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; also 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 10, 1991, at the Larkin Sunset Chapel 2350 East 1300 South, where friends may call one hour prior to services Interment, Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
