A number of Utah youths were delegates to the recent 64th annual national convention in Kansas City, Mo., of the Future Farmers of America.
They were Lex Godfrey, Fielding, Box Elder County; Kellee Jones, Cedar City; Kelly Campbell, Manila, Daggett County; Brian Williams, Lindon, Utah County; and Heather Heaton, Alton, Kane County.American FFA degree recipients were Michael Brown, Coalville, Summit County; David F. Fairbourn, Elberta, Utah County; Kirk Stevens, Holden, Millard County; Paul Briggs, Manila; Jennifer A. Crane, Salina, Sevier County; Curtis K. Bunderson, Tremonton; Conn L. Famuliner, West Point, Davis County; Ben Fitzgerald, Heber City; and Justine S. Wright, Elberta.
Utah's national officer candidate was Shay Wright of Elberta. Candi Ercanbrack, Santaquin, Utah County, won the western region's Agricultural Processing Proficiency award.
Carl Swenson, Payson High School, received the honorary American FFA Degree Teacher Award, and James E. Evans, Altamont, Duchesne County, took home a Computers in Agriculture award.
The largest annual youth convention in America, the gathering featured a keynote address by President Bush and eight sessions with addresses by speakers from the fields of agriculture, government and entertainment.
