Former NBA player Sylvester "Sly" Williams was recaptured Sunday after fleeing a hospital where he was treated for a stab wound he received in a fight with his girlfriend.

Police said Williams, 33, who played for the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics during the 1980s, was found in the bedroom of a New Haven house. It was not known who owned the house in which Williams sought refuge.Williams, being sought for violation of probation and for his role in a fight Dec. 2 that left him with a stab wound in the neck, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital under police watch, authorities said. He faces one count of third-degree assault and two counts of violation of probation.
