White City is an unincorporated island of southeast Salt Lake County surrounded by incorporated Sandy. It is neighborhood with an independent spirit with late `50s and early `60s vintage homes. Since 1964, White City residents have resisted annexation attempts by Sandy. It is a one-square mile area with boundaries roughly at 700 East to 2000 East and 9400 South to 10600 South.
Of its 6,500 residents, 38.5 percent are under age 18. Some 3.4 percent of the residents are older than age 65. 28.2 percent are between the ages of 25 and 44.Origin of community's name:

Did you know?
In 1959, a group of residents unsuccessfully attempted to change the area's name from White City, the name given the original subdivision by a private developer, to Alta View. At the time, Canyon View was also considered as a substitute for White City.

Incorporation vote
