Utahn Stephen M. Studdert - a former aide to Presidents Ford, Reagan and Bush - has been named chairman of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle.

The stockholder-owned, wholesale bank is part of the Federal Home Loan Bank system, which provides credit and banking privileges to housing lenders. With assets of more than $8 billion, it serves Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming and Guam.Studdert, who has served on the bank board since 1987, was reappointed by the White House to the board and given a one-year term as chairman, bank President James R. Faulstich said.
