The Southern Utah Home Builders Association will hold a Parade of Homes in the St. George area Thursday, Feb. 14, through Monday, Feb. 18. Sponsors hope to make the event an annual affair.
Clark Spilker, chairman, said the home show will feature 15 custom-designed homes. The homes are scattered throughout the St. George area. One admission pass will allow visitors to tour each home anytime over the five-day period."Some of the area's most prestigious builders are creating their finest works for exhibit in the show. You'll find striking architecture, beautiful interior decorating, enhanced landscaping, and the latest in labor- and energy-saving devices. Many of the state's most elegant homes are built in St. George," Spilker said.
Because of the climate differences, the St. George Parade of Homes will be the first home show in Utah this year. Typically, the home exhibits in other parts of the state are scheduled for summer.
"We have the advantage in Dixie to be able to build all year around," stated Spilker. "Our best and most comfortable weather coincides with the dates of our Parade of Homes."
The Parade of Homes is co-sponsored by First Security Bank-Mortgage Division, The Daily Spectrum, KDXU-AM and FM-93 in St. George.
