Registration will still be taken at the door for teachers to attend "Deseret News and All That Jazz," a workshop focusing on using the newspaper to teach class lessons in sports and other subjects.

The training session for teachers K-12 will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, in the cafeteria of Murray High School, 5440 S. State from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There is a $22 registration fee that includes sessions, handouts, lunch and 120 classroom newspapers. One hour state/district credit is possible. One hour of Weber State University credit is available for an additional $20 fee.

Featured speakers include Gordon Chiesa, assistant Jazz coach, who will also serve on a sports panel, moderated by Craig Bolerjack, KSL Sports. Other panel members include Brad Rock, Jazz beat writer; Anne Handy Jones, WSU women's assistant basketball coach; and Jim Yerkovich, Judge Memorial High School basketball coach.

Minisessions will be taught by Deseret News writers Doug Robinson, Ann Whiting Allen, Twila Van Leer, Joe Bauman and Carma Wadley. Sports strategies will be shown by classroom teachers Nancy Andersen and Ellen Jeppson, as well as Deseret Newspaper in Education staffers Carolyn Dickson and Sherry Madsen.
