Carmen Beatrice Bird Bangerter, age 75, died of cancer Saturday, February 16, 1991 at her home in Bountiful, Utah.

She began life July 2, 1915 in a log cabin on a homestead in Junction Precinct, Box Elder County, Utah, the first child of Rolen Veron Bird and Beatrice McKendrick, who have both preceded her in death. She graduated from Logan High School where she received literary honors. She married Vernon A. Bangerter in the Logan LDS Temple on December 19, 1933. They were the parents of four sons.An active member of the LDS Church, she served in numerous Sunday School, Relief Society and Primary callings. Together with her husband she filled a mission to the Tennessee, Nashville Mission at age 67. Her great love and caring for others were felt by each member of her family as well as all who knew her. She found pleasure in raising prize-winning dogs, collecting antiques, doing fine needlework, flower gardening and her show horse.

Survived by: Vernon, her husband of 57 years; sons, V. Brent, Bountiful; L. Thad, West Valley City; Ken, West Bountiful; and Jay, Blackfoot, Idaho; brother, Rolen Lloyd Bird; 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 21, at 12 noon in the Bountiful 26th Ward Chapel, 200 North 200 West. Friends may call at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday at the church from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the services.
