Wayne Issac Sandall, 83, died Thursday, January 31, 1991 in the McKay Dee Hospital, Ogden, of heart failure.
He was born March 9, 1907, in Bothwell, a son of Thomas W. and Elizabeth B. Adams Sandall. He married his high school sweetheart, Luella Marble, May 14, 1927, in Deweyville. The marriage was solemnized February 23, 1928 in the Logan LDS Temple. She died September 11, 1981. He married Lucille Cannon Waldron, July 23, 1983, in Tremonton; they were later divorced.Mr. Sandall was reared and educated in Bothwell and Tremonton. His business career began as an automobile salesman. He later owned and operated Sandall Motor from 1938-1961. He began his farming and cattle ranching career, which he loved, in Western Box Elder County in the early 1940's. He organized and served as President and Director of Bear River State Bank in Tremonton, served as a member of the Board of Directors of Commercial Security Bank, as partner in Sandall Farm and Ranch Family Partnership. He served as a member of the Box Elder County Board of Education for 10 years, as president of the Box Elder County Fair and Golden Spike Rodeo for two terms, as director of the Western Box Elder County Grain Growers Association, as director of the Lake Bonneville Council of Boy Scouts, as member of the Tremonton Lions Club and Chamber of Commerce. He also served as mayor of Tremonton from 1970 - 1974, and as a member of the ASCS State Committee.
Mr. Sandall has always enjoyed working with people and as a result was a recipient of the Jaycee Distinguished Service Award and the Andrew N. Rytting Award for Distinguished Community Service in 1967.
He was a High Priest in the Tremonton Sixth Ward, and had served in the YMMIA Presidency, Sunday School Superintendency, as Bishop of the Tremonton 1st Ward for six years, and as a counselor in the South Bear River Stake Presidency for seven years, and as a member of the South Bear River Stake High Council.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Dallas Wayne and JoAnne Sandall, Tremonton; two grandchildren and their spouses, Susan and Eldon Petersen, Scott and Christie Sandall, all of Tremonton; five great-grandchildren; Krisha and Chandi Petersen, Nathan, Mitchell and Chrystal Sandall, all of Tremonton. Also surviving are four nieces and nephews whom Mr. Sandall and his wife, Luella helped raise. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 4, at 12 noon at the Tremonton Stake Center, with Bishop Robert F. Jex officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 6 - 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 - 11:30 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 No. 100 East, Tremonton. Interment in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
