Opportunities and concerns associated with winter recreational use of the LaSal Mountains will be discussed at a public meeting scheduled by the U.S. Forest Service.

The meeting is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Forest Service office, 125 W. 200 South.Winter use of the LaSals has been steadily increasing over the past few years, along with interest in commercial outfitting and guiding, said Patrick Spahr, Moab Ranger District forester.

Proposals for managing winter guiding activities to minimize conflicts between commercial groups and private users will be addressed during the meeting.
