The Utah Committee of Consumer Services will hold its monthly meeting at the Tooele County Courthouse, 47 S. Main, on Friday, March 1, at 11 a.m.

The committee is a state agency that represents the interests of residential, small business and agricultural consumers in public utility matters before the Utah Public Service Commission.At Friday's meeting, the committee will hear reports on natural gas, telephone and electric utility matters now pending before the PSC. Among the specific items discussed will be Mountain Fuel Supply Co.'s request for an $11.9 million pass through rate increase. The hike has received preliminary approval from the commission but will be discussed at a hearing on April 3. The matter was scheduled for a hearing Feb. 22 but was delayed at the request of the committee.

The committee will also review the status of US WEST Communication's incentive regulation plan. PSC hearings on the plan are slated to begin Feb. 28 and run through March 15. A public witness day is scheduled March 8.
