A concert to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity will be held Saturday, March 2, at the First Congregational Church of Salt Lake City.
Joyful Sound, a vocal ensemble from Hilltop United Methodist Church, will present "The Habitat Story," a musical blend of contemporary Christian gospel music in praise of and tribute to the significant achievements of this humanitarian organization.Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian ministry that works to eliminate poverty housing. Houses are built or renovated, using as much volunteer labor and donated materials as possible. They are then sold to a family in need at no profit and no interest. Their payments are recycled to build more homes.
The homeowners are required to help build their home and to help other prospective homeowners build their homes.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and a freewill offering will be taken. All proceeds go to the Salt Lake chapter of Habitat. Refreshments will follow the concert.
