Poland and Czechoslovakia signed an agreement on military cooperation Wednesday in the wake of the demise of the Warsaw Pact military alliance, the official news agency PAP said.

PAP said the agreement signed by Polish Defense Minister Piotr Kolodziejczyk and Czechoslovakia Defense Minister Lubos Dobrovsky dealt with principles of military cooperation."It is not a defensive pact of alliance," Kolodziejczyk said following the signing ceremony. "It will concern the exchange of information on several military subjects."

The agreement was signed following Monday's decision in Budapest to disband the Warsaw Pact's military structure April 1.
