The University of Utah will celebrate national Women's Week Tuesday, March 5, through Thursday, March 7, with the following activities:
March 5: three workshops and/or lectures: "Ethnic Diversity Among Women: Different and the Same" will be presented at the Marriott Library Auditorium from 10 a.m. to noon; Belle Spafford Visiting Scholar Nancy Amidei will present a lecture at noon, "Women and Poverty: How Women can Advocate for Change," at Olpin Union Theatre. The U. College of Nursing will present a workshop about exercise, fitness and nutrition titled "A Lifetime of Health."March 6: Barbara Solomon, dean of the graduate school at the University of Southern California, will deliver the keynote address, "A Lifetime of Growth," in the Olpin Union Theatre at noon. A panel discussion titled "A Lifetime of Career Opportunities: Choices for the Next Decade" will be at the Marriott Library Auditorium from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
March 7: "Mothers and Daughters: Growing Together Through a Lifetime," a panel discussion, will be held in the Marriott Library Auditorium from 10 a.m. to noon. The celebration will be concluded with "Shaping Academia to Meet the Needs of the Future" in the Olpin Union Ballroom at noon.
