The Natural Gas Vehicle Committee of the American Gas Association is meeting in Salt Lake City through Thursday, Feb. 28.
During the visit, committee members will see one of seven natural-gas vehicle refueling stations operated by Mountain Fuel Supply Co., which provides natural-gas service to customers in Utah, southwest Wyoming and southeast Idaho.They also will visit the NGV refueling facility at the Salt Lake International Airport, where natural-gas vehicles are being used.
Lt. Gov. W. Val Oveson, who has converted his own vehicle to natural gas, will meet committee members to discuss work of the Governor's Clean Air Commission and the state's interest in natural-gas vehicles.
The committee is helping coordinate natural-gas vehicle development among automobile engine manufacturers and natural-gas producers, distribution and pipeline companies and agencies that develop standards.
