The first three women soldiers reported killed in Operation Desert Storm have been identified by the Defense Department.

The three died in Monday's Scud missile attack on a U.S. Army barracks in Dhahran in eastern Saudi Arabia.The dead women were identified Wednesday as Specialist Beverly S. Clark, 23, of Armagh, Pa.; Spec. Christine L. Mayes, 22, of Rochester Mills, Pa., who became engaged to be married on Feb. 17, the day she left for Saudi Arabia; and Pvt. Adrienne L. Mitchell, 20, of Moreno Valley, Calif.

Eleven of the 28 soldiers killed in the barracks attack were from two western Pennsylvania reserve units, officials said at a news conference.
