Owen Thomas Howard, formerly of Tremonton, 89, died at home in St. George of causes incident to age.

He was born November 13, 1901 in Woods Cross, a son of Thomas Joseph and Hattie Pack Howard. He married Rachel Ellis, February 1, 1928, in the Logan LDS Temple. Mr. Howard was a bee keeper and farmer, and worked 10 years with the Peter Whitmer and Joseph Smith Farms in New York. He also served as Superintendent of Utah County Youth Home in Provo. He was an active member of the LDS Church, and served in many leadership callings, including two missions to the North Western States, High Councils in Malad, Gooding, and Provo; ordinance worker in Salt Lake and Logan LDS Temples; and for the past six years in the St. George LDSTemple.Surviving are his wife, St. George; four sons, Ellis Howard, Tremonton; David Howard, Orem; Clarence Howard, Hawthorn, California; Stephen Howard, Chatsworth, California; three daughters, Marie Sanders, Las Vegas, Nevada; Marjorie Manning, Salt Lake City; Nora Larsen, Pleasant Grove; one brother and one sister, Lorin Howard and Hilda Castleton, both of Logan. Preceded in death by one brother, Fred and one sister, Marjorie.

Funeral Services Saturday, 11 a.m., Saturday, February 9, at Tremonton Stake Center, 660 North 1st East, Tremonton, with Bishop Cleo R. Bunderson, officiating. Friends call Thursday in St. George, 7-8 p.m. at Spillsbury & Graff Mortuary, 58 North 100 East, and Saturday in Tremonton, at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 1st East, 9:45-10:30 a.m. Burial: Malad City Cemetery.
