Jazz forward Blue Edwards learned Wednesday he will be representing the Utah Jazz at All-Star Weekend, along with teammates Karl Malone and John Stockton.
Edwards, a 6-5 second-year player, was named as a contestant in the annual slam-dunk competition, which will be held in conjunction with the All-Star Game. The slam-dunk contest will be held Saturday.Edwards was named to the field after All-Star Dominique Wilkins dropped out due to a reported Achilles tendon injury. He joins Charlotte's Rex Chapman and Kendall Gill, Boston's Dee Brown, Seattle's Shawn Kemp, Houston's Kenny Smith, Orlando's Otis Smith and Indiana's Kenny Williams in the competition.
Edwards will travel to Charlotte, N.C., for the contest, as will Malone and Stockton, who are playing for the West in the All-Star Game Sunday.
