The Utah Jazz have placed forward Blue Edwards on the injured list and signed NBA veteran Tony Brown to a 10-day contract, pending the successful completion of Brown's physical.

Edwards sustained a severe ankle sprain in Wednesday night's win over Golden State, and is expected to be out three weeks. Brown, a 6-foot-6 forward, will join the team in Detroit, where the Jazz play the Pistons Friday night.Brown is a five-year NBA veteran. He was a fourth-round pick of New Jersey in the 1982 draft, the 82nd pick overall. He has played with New Jersey, Indiana, Chicago, Houston and Milwaukee. He has played in part or all of five NBA seasons, totaling 273 games. His career average is 6.6 points and 2.3 rebounds.

Brown's most recent employer was the Albany Patroons of the CBA. He played three games there, averaging 15.3 points and 4.6 rebounds. Prior to joining Albany on Feb. 22, he was playing in Europe.

Other CBA teams Brown has played for include Ohio, Kansas City and Grand Rapids. His cumulative average in CBA play is 15.2 points and seven rebounds.
