Our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Katherine Jespersen Kolby, age 82, passed away peacefully February 27, 1991 at home after a short illness.
Born June 10, 1908 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Amanda Weinreich and Soren J. Jespersen. Married Lauritz Aage Kolby, August 31, 1929 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active member of the LDS Church serving in many leadership positions in her ward and stake inculding Relief Society president. She served as a missionary with her husband in the Arkansas, Little Rock Mission, September 1975 - March 1977. She and her husband founded Time and Instrument Co. and Appliance Service Center in 1933. She blessed the lives of many through her gift of music having served as ward organist for 68 years. She was known for the beautiful handwork which she generously gave to her family and friends who will always remember her for the love and concern she showed to all.Survived by her husband; three daughters, Florence (Ross) Watson, Elaine (Tom) Daniels and Marian (Lynn) Rossiter and son, Larry (Jerrianne) Kolby; brother, Paul (Lilly) Jespersen; 22 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by grandson, Jerry Rossiter.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2nd, 1 p.m., Monument Park 5th Ward, 1930 South 2100 East. Friends may call at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, Friday evening, 6-8 p.m., and at the Ward, one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
