Alpine School district is showing off its wares this weekend at the University Mall.

More than 5,000 Alpine students are participating in Friday and Saturday's ninth annual Education Fair. Students from 34 schools will perform and display materials from the district's educational programs."This is really a big deal for Alpine School District," assistant superintendent Jack Reid said. "This is a chance for people to see what the students are learning in school and a chance for the students to show off their talents a little."

One of the main events will be the district's science fair. Adult-education programs will be featured along with various arts. The fair will consist of 142 table displays and 144 panel displays. Students will participate in more than 65 live performances.

The largest contributors to the fair are Suncrest Elementary School, which will have every student participating, and Northridge Elementary School, which will have 450 students participating. More than 300 students from Orem High School will be involved.

The fair is expected to be the district's largest ever.
