QUESTION: I am going to Paris and want to buy costume jewelry. I understand there are stores on one particular street that sell it.

ANSWER: There is a street with a concentration of costume jewelry (bijou fantaisie), Rue du Temple, which runs between Rue de Rivoli and the Place de la Republique.

However, you will have to limit yourself to window shopping as the stores there are wholesalers and will not sell to individuals shopping for themselves.

Here are some shops outside the Rue du Temple that do sell costume jewelry retail:

QUESTION: I plan to be in the Los Angeles area this year and would like to pay my respects at the graves of John Wayne and Bette Davis. Can you tell me which cemeteries they are buried in?

ANSWER: John Wayne, who died in 1979, is buried in Pacific View Memorial Park, (714) 644-2700, in Newport Beach, south of Los Angeles.

Bette Davis, who died in 1989, is buried at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive; (213) 254-7251. (This is one of five Forest Lawn locations.)

The cemeteries do not reveal the location of grave sites. However, Grave Line Tours, a company in Los Angeles that gives tours related to deaths of celebrities, says that John Wayne's grave can be found at the top of Pacific View's one hill; at Forest Lawn, Bette Davis's grave it is on the left side just as one enters the Courts of Remembrance (a map is available at the cemetery gate). Her epitaph says "She Did It the Hard Way," according to Grave Line.
