Auditions have been scheduled for the following productions:

- "THE VISIT" on Monday, March 11, from 3:20 until 8 p.m. in Room 101, and on Tuesday, March 22, from 5 until 7 p.m. in Room 115 of the Performing Arts Building, adjacent to the University of Utah book store.The compelling "tragicomedy," being directed by Marilyn Holt, requires a cast of four women and 12 men, from adolescence through middle age. Many of the performers will be playing multiple roles.

Auditioners should sign up for a time slot on the PAB audition board and come prepared with a 1- to 2-minute monologue from a modern drama. Scripts and sides will be available for checkout and may be picked up from Lillian Cahoy in PAB Room No. 206 (phone 581-6448).

Rehearsals begin April 15 with performances May 23-June 2 in the Babcock Theatre of the Pioneer Memorial Theatre building.

Written by Friedrich Durrenmatt, "The Visit" is an acclaimed drama about the world's wealthiest woman returning to her impoverished home town and making an offer that the townspeople can't refuse.

- "CAMELOT" on Saturday, March 16, for Salt Lake Community Arts Center's production of the Lerner and Loewe musical.

Director Pat Davis has scheduled the auditions from 9 a.m. until noon in the multipurpose room of the Salt Lake Community College Center, Redwood Road campus.

Only the role of King Arthur (Robert Peterson) has been cast. All other roles are open. All require singing and limited dancing, with the exception of Merlyn and Pellinore. Auditioners must come prepared with one brief song and be ready (and dressed) to learn a stage movement routine with the choreographer.

An accompanist will be provided. Only performers 18 and up should audition.

The show runs May 24-June 8 as the first to be presented in the newly renovated South City Campus of Salt Lake Community College (the former South High School complex).

- "OLIVER," on Friday and Saturday, March 15-16, for the Art City Community Theatre production in Springville.

Auditions for children and teenagers will be on Friday, with these time slots for different age groups: 4 until 5:30 p.m., 7-8 years of age; 5:30-7 p.m., 9-10 years of age, and 7-9 p.m., 11 through 15 years old. Children and youths should prepare 16 bars of music and a 1-minute poem or monologue.

Auditions for adults will be on Saturday from 7 until 9 p.m. These auditioners will be asked to perform at least 16 bars of a musical selection and should come prepared for dance movement.

All of the auditions will be held at 417 S. 200 East, Springville.

Callbacks will be Tuesday, March 19, from 7 until 10 p.m.

Director Leslie Walker said all roles are open and all types are needed. Rehearsals will begin in April with performances June 6-17 as part of the community's annual Art City Days celebration.

- PARK CITY SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL is auditioning performers on Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. for the company, which will present four productions this summer.

All roles are open except those of Hamlet and Ophelia.

The auditions will be held at the Winner School, 6120 S. 2075 East, Salt Lake City.

The annual Park City Shakespeare Festival is produced by Intermountain Actors Ensemble, Inc.

Auditioners should prepare two short contrasting scenes from Shakespeare.

This season's festival will have four plays in repertory: "Hamlet," "The Two Gentlemen of Verona," "Romeo and Juliet" and a non-Shakespearean work, "Not About Heros."
