University of Utah faculty pianists Susan Duehlmeier and Bonnie Gritton have been selected to perform on the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series at the Los Angeles Museum of Modern Art. The concert, set for Dec. 1, is to be broadcast live over KUSC and other PBS affiliates.
In 1989 the two-piano team performed on the Dame Myra Hess Series in Chicago. They will also be performing in June and July on the Temple Square Concert Series (the latter as part of the Temple Square Mozart Festival) and, in August, at Westminster College.- ROBERT PETERSON, Utah singer and actor, will make a cameo appearance in "Riders of the Wind," the outdoor musical to be presented in conjunction with Vernal's 1990 Outlaw Trail Festival. The show, based on the life of local legend Ann Bassett (known to historians as Queen Ann), promises to be a robust musical tale of the old West. It will open on July 4 and run through the month of July.
Among other events scheduled for the festival a one-man exhibit by artist Valoy Eaton, and Utah State University's third annual Great Art Escape.
- HAL CAMPBELL, head of the music department at Southern Utah State University, has been named the winner of a composition contest sponsored by the Utah Valley Choral Society.
Campbell's "Old Testament Suite," a five-movement work consisting of settings from the Old Testament, is to be performed by the group at some future date. It was previously performed complete at SUU, at which time it was recorded.
