Theron Fleury said scoring three shorthanded goals were as much a surprise to him as everybody else.
"I've never had more than one shorthanded goal before," said Fleury, who led the Flames to an 8-4 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night. "I don't really know what happened."The shorthanded hat trick sent club officials from both teams to the record books. The former Eagle, who also had an assist, was the first Flames player to score three shorthanded goals.
"I've never seen anything like it at any level," said Blues coach Brian Sutter, whose team has given up 16 shorthanded goals.
