Steven Glade Anderson, M.D., died Monday, March 4, 1991 in San Francisco, California.

Dr. Anderson was born July 15, 1946, to Loren Glade and Helen Rowe Anderson, in Provo, Utah. His early education was in North Hollywood, California, but he returned to graduate from Provo High School. He attended the University of Utah, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in Medical Biology. He received his M.D. from the University of California at San Francisco. He did his residency in Pediatrics at the University of California and San Francisco General Hospital. Dr. Anderson served as physician for the U.S. Public Health Service Indian Hospital in Winnebago, Nebraska. After the public health service, Steven was a Medical Director of the Criminal Justice Medical Program in San Leandro for the County of Alameda, a program which served over 500 patients daily. Dr. Anderson left Alameda when he was named Medical Director for the City and County of San Francisco, in charge of the Youth Guidance Center and affiliated medical clinics.Survived by father and step-mother, Sue Sanford Anderson, Provo; sister, Mrs. John Immel (Lynda), of Hong Kong; and step sisters, Mrs. Steven Crozier (Denece), of Salt Lake; Mrs. R.J. Bigelow (Ellis), of Houston, Texas; and Sanford Alexandra Stark (Sas), of Chicago, Illinois. Also surviving are two nephews, John and Jeffrey Immel, and two nieces, Sarah and Jennifer Immel, all of Hong Kong. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Rowe Anderson.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Neptune Society, 1275 Columbus Ave., San Francisco, California. At his request, his remains will be cremated and his ashes scattered at sea.
