Robert Oren Mathis, age 57, passed away peacefully March 8, 1991, in Salt Lake City.

Born November 23, 1933, in Wichita Kansas, to Robert Cleveland and Myrtle Chancellor Mathis. He married Kenna Fotheringham on Oct.24, 1964, in Helper, Utah; later divorced. Grew up in Wichita, Kansas, moved to El Paso, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas, El Paso in 1963, then came to Salt Lake City where he has resided since. Served his country in the US Air Force. Owner/operator of Bob's College Book Store for several years. Enjoyed bowling and golf. Bob was a most generous man who was loved by all he knew.Survived by two daughters, Mekala K. Mathis and Terrie K. Walker; and a son Robert K. Mathis, all from Salt Lake City. Also surviving is his Step-father L. L. Larrance, Kansas; step-mother Irene Mathis Denmink, Texas; and a sister, Marguerite Zarfas,Missouri.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 11th, 1 pm, at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel 3251 So. 2300 East, where friends may call for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
