Seventeen Utah Air National Guard members in Saudi Arabia since December are expected to return to Salt Lake City Wednesday, and about 360 Army Reservists with the 328th General Hospital may return from Germany on March 17.
Army Reserve officials at Fort Douglas were working Monday to confirm the general hospital's return date, which was still tentative when an alert on the return was first received by the 96th Army Reserve Command, Maj. Gen. Donald M. Bagley Jr. said. The general hospital was activated Dec. 6 and its members have been working at military installations in Germany since Dec. 18, replacing other personnel that were transferred to the Persian Gulf.
Members of the hospital would first stop at Fort Carson, Colo., for five days of "demobilization" before returning to Salt Lake City, Bagley said.
The 17 members of the Utah Air Guard's 151st Aerial Refueling Group are expected to make several stops in Europe and the United States before returning to Salt Lake City about 2 p.m. Wednesday, said Maj. Roger Gillespie, a Guard spokesman.
