Robert De Niro has never been known for his sense of humor but he cracked a small joke Saturday when he was the subject of a tribute by the American Museum of Moving Image in New York.

"I consider myself too young for awards like this," said De Niro, 47. "They should have been given to guys like Al Pacino and Dustin Hoffman ."The 800 guests at the gala included Sean Penn, Glenn Close, Spike Lee and Isabella Rosselini.
