With Georgia competing in its second road meet in three days and BYU in its fourth meet in 10 days, both teams were probably a bit flat Monday afternoon in Provo. Add to that the fact that one of BYU's top all-arounders, Korie Jackman was able to go only two events because of the flu and Georgia's top all-arounder, Heather Stepp, was sidelined when she broke her arm against Utah on Saturday and a score of 191.75 to 190.45 in Georgia's favor was not at all surprising. While the teams struggled overall, there were some good individual performances. The Cougars' Marianne Squires' consistency in all events netted her a 38.8 and the all-around title. Georgia's 1988 Olympian Hope Spivey nailed a handspring front vault for a score of 9.9.
